No escape, by Reco Spencer

While Emily wanders into the deserted house searching for a puppy, she finds the skeletal remains of what look to be animals. Frightened, Emily panics because she has started to believe that her puppy has been sacrificed for some sadistic reason, maybe to satisfy some evil individual’s need to hurt animals.

Emily continues to run throughout the house, ignoring sounds of machines cutting screaming animals. She doesn’t shout because she doesn’t want to draw attention to herself. Emily sees before her eyes a room that has a light on and something moving inside. Hoping that she isn’t running into a deadly situation in which her demise will be met, she enters only to find her puppy scratching to get out of the room.

Emily quickly picks up her puppy and runs from the house, only to be hit by a car speeding down the street.
